About

Dianne Alexander

To be a judge, you must be a part of the commonwealth of which you serve. You must understand the needs, the culture, the perseverance, the sociology. Good judges have a sense of community and understand that hard work and dedication should take place both on, and off the bench.

I AM SINCERELY COMMITTED TO THESE VALUES!

Dianne Alexander, a native of New Orleans, obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, with a minor in Political Science from Southern University at New Orleans in 1993. Ms. Alexander earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola University College of Law in 1999. She was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 1999.
Ms. Alexander has served as the Attorney for Character and Fitness for the Louisiana Supreme Court’s Committee on Bar Admission; as General Counsel for the Louisiana State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors; as Clerk of Court for Orleans Parish Juvenile Court; Staff Attorney for the Louisiana 4th Circuit Court of Appeal; as an Attorney with the City of New Orleans Law Department; as an Assistant District Attorney with the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office and as an Associate Attorney with a local law firm.
While Ms. Alexander’s son was a student at Lake Forest Charter Elementary School, she served for 7 years as the co-chair of the school’s signature fundraising event known as Cocktails and Blues as well as a volunteer with the school’s PTO for various school activities.

Currently, as a resident of New Orleans East, she volunteers with the H.O.N.O.R. (Honor Our Neighbors with Our Resources) Foundation founded by Nicole and Robert Bell. The foundation’s focus is clean up and beautification of New Orleans East. Because the Bells are residents of New Orleans East, once a month they solicit volunteers and, on a Saturday, they spend at least 3 hours picking up trash in an area of a New Orleans East neighborhood.

Ms. Alexander is the mother of one son Blake Bennett who is a freshman at Ben Franklin High School.
